I've been drinking you - a lalalala long ♪♫♬
In this post, we will turn back in time and we will return to our classical espresso and its variants. Espresso as a coffee icon has many different 'relatives' who differ in terms of brewing. So far we've met the Americano which is an espresso with water and today we will focus on Lungo.

Why is it called lungo? Because it means long in the Italian language. So what?
Lungo coffee is prepared just like espresso, but after obtaining about 25-30 ml of infusion you continue until it reaches 50-60 ml. Thanks to this, the coffee is more delicate.
Now the name is more clear. It is simply connected with the time of brewing. The preparation of lungo is longer, right?
Lungo coffee is often mistaken with Americano coffee which is ridiculous. Of course, both of them are somehow related to an espresso, but the preparation is completely different. Lungo is longer brewed espresso and Americano is espresso with water. The dissimilarity is obvious!
As you can see one more time, espresso gives us many opportunities to create new types of coffee. So if we can make espresso longer, can we make it shorter as well? I leave you with this question for a week...
May your coffee taste great!
