Dry coffee?

The next stop in our adventure is quite paradoxical in terms of the name. Today, we will get to know more about a coffee which is another variation about classical cappuccino: a dry cappuccino.

Despite fact that it is hard to imagine a dry coffee, this kind of cappuccino actually exist. It is nothing extraordinary, but a cappuccino with more frothed foam than usual. At the same time, it means that it contains less foamed milk. In the USA the foam is replaced with a whipped cream.
We can take this to the extreme and remove all the steamed milk from the cappuccino and just leave the foam. In this case, we will get the bone-dry cappuccino.

In Italy, this type of coffee is sometimes called a cappuccino scuro which literally translating means a dark coffee. This name is related to the fact that the color of dry cappuccino is a lot darker than a hue of classical cappuccino. Why is it called dry cappuccino in other languages? Let leave it as a mystery, because although I was looking for an answer, I didn't find anything about this difference in naming.

May your coffee taste great!
